HAZARA INTERNATIONAL FORUM OF GREAT
BRITAIN DENOUNCES COLD-BLOODED KILLING OF BRITISH TROOPS IN
HELMAND – AFGHANISTAN.
Hazara International Forum (HIF) of
Great Britain gravely condemns the abhorrent act of violence against
the British Army Personnel in Helmand Afghanistan on Tuesday the 13th
of July. The incident is even more deplorable as it was a callous
exploit and result of a tragic betrayal of trust causing the
slaughter of unsuspecting officers in Babaji region of Helmand
Province. HIF and British Hazara Community are deeply saddened by
the happening and sympathize earnestly with the aggrieved families
of the deceased soldiers.
The facts and details surrounding
the event are not very clear at the moment. The rumours in the media
are inadvertently linking the incident with an Afghan National
Soldier (ANA) Talib Hossein who is alleged to originate from Ghazni
– Hazarajat.
HIF and Hazara Community doubt the
truth behind such reports. Hazaras are peace loving people and have
nothing to do with such repulsive acts of terrorism. The history
stands witness to the unprecedented social and military ties between
the British and Hazaras in Afghanistan and South Asian region.
British and Hazaras are historically natural allies and this type of
singular incident - which may well have been plotted to undermine
cordial British-Hazara relations – does not reflect on the true
belief and confidence of Hazara people about Britain and allied
armies in Afghanistan.
The HIF and Hazara Community, as
always, stand with the British Government and People on this issue
and all matters of national interest and security. We request a full
investigation into the circumstances of the calamity and desire that
the perpetrator(s) are brought to justice.
